 2019 Fall Storage Vegetables

Now’s the time to stock up on some vegetables that you’ll be able to store this fall, and consume throughout the fall and winter. There’s nothing that equals the satisfaction of having a stash of nutritious goods stored away in your home during the fall & winter months.

These are all easy-to-store veggies; check out _______________ for some storage tips.

Order Deadline: Thursday, October 3, at noon (or until each vegetable is spoken for - these will *all* sell out, so it’s first-paid-for-first-reserved)

Payment is due at the time of ordering.

Orders will be filled next week, for pickup at the same time as the usual produce pickup:

  • Pickup in London: Thursday, October 10, 3pm & onwards

  • Pickup at Bee Loved Gardens: Friday, October 11 (3:30 - 6pm) or Saturday, October 12 (9 - 11am)

*See photo above, to ID the various types. Squash will be measured by the half-bushel, and packed in the large paper bags you receive your produce in... a half-bushel is about 3/4+ of the large paper bags. The numbers below correspond to approximately how many of each type will be in a half-bushel. Storage capacity: in general, butternuts store the longest (several months); buttercups keep a few months; and the rest keep 2 - 4 months, or longer in prime conditions.
If you'd like multiple boxes of any of the above squash, please note that below:
Potatoes
Potatoes will be measured by the half-bushel, which is approximately 25 pounds They will be packed in the large paper bags, with each half-bushel filling the bag about 3/4 full
If you'd like multiple bags of any type of potato, please note that below:
Sweet Potatoes
Sweet potatoes will be packed in the large paper bags. 20 pounds would fill the bag 1/ 2 to 2/3 full.
Garlic
This variety generally keeps for 3 - 4+ months, depending on storage conditions
Onions
Beets
Cabbage
Cabbages will be measured by the half-bushel and packed in the large paper bags. A half bushel is approximately 3/4 of a large paper bag.
Black Beans (dry beans)
