Fall and Early Winter Produce
It's exciting to announce that there will be lots of produce again this fall and into the early winter (until about the end of December). You might be wondering how much locally-grown produce will be available in this climate through the fall and winter... check out this list below for some of what will be available!
SPECIAL THINGS, AVAILABLE UNTIL THE FIRST HARD FROST (we'll keep them going as long as we can!)
- Green and yellow beans
- Sweet peppers (lots of red and orange peppers)
Spinach, baby lettuce mix, baby arugula, head lettuces, kale (various types), Swiss chard, bok choy, tatsoi, and a few others for variety
The really neat thing about greens grown in cool weather is that they taste extra-sweet. This is definitely the prime growing season for beautiful and very delicious salad greens and cooking greens!
Other possibilities, if there's enough interest for them: pea shoots, sunflower shoots, microgreens.
Broccoli, cabbages (various types), brussels sprouts, cauliflower (likely... it's usually a surprise when this finicky vegetable decides to form heads)
Sweet potatoes, beets, carrots, potatoes, various types of radishes, parsnips, salad turnips, rutabaga
Acorn, delicata, vegetable spaghetti, buttercup, butternut, kabocha, hubbard, etc
Onions, garlic, leeks
Basil, parsley, cilantro, dill, sage, thyme, oregano, chives, etc.
In addition to produce, there will be some other farm goods available...
Until they sell out. These are all raised on pasture, fed non-GMO grains, and are absolutely delectable. Meats you can feel good about eating, and feel great after eating them.
- Pork (various cuts available, or by the 1/2 or 1/4)
- Turkey (Thanksgiving & Christmas)
Very fresh eggs from happy hens, living outdoors. Fed non-GMO grains and lots of greens. In addition to the standard brown eggs, there will also be cartons available with a mixture of beautiful eggs... dark brown to light brown, pastel blue to white!
** The fall and winter produce will be available for pickup at the farm on Saturday mornings, or by appointment. Produce will also be taken to St. Thomas. Get in touch if you'd like more details!
Instead of a season-long "share" / CSA, we're switching to monthly time segments (or, it's always available for weekly pickup / orders).
